What is lapsed catholic?

A lapsed Catholic is someone who was raised in the Catholic faith, but no longer actively practices or participates in the religion. This can happen for a variety of reasons, such as a loss of faith, disagreement with church teachings, or simply falling out of the habit of attending Mass and participating in other religious practices.

Lapsed Catholics may still identify culturally as Catholic or hold some beliefs associated with the faith, but they do not actively engage in the religious practices and rituals of the Church. Some lapsed Catholics may eventually return to the faith, while others may remain disconnected from organized religion for the rest of their lives.

It is important to note that being a lapsed Catholic does not necessarily mean that someone has completely abandoned their faith or beliefs, but rather that they have chosen to distance themselves from the institutional aspects of the Catholic Church.
